Born
in Ohio to a large but tight-knit family, early exposure to music
as a part of family activities led Rick to start performing at
the age of nine, he began his school musical involvement in the
band and choir performing vocal solos, playing piano and trumpet.
At the age of fifteen he began a songwriting career influenced
by such bands and artists as Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Harry Chapin,
Billy Joel and Barry Manilow.
Rick now writes music influenced by such artists as Joshua Kadison, Cat Stevens
and Jim Croce. He strives to write music with messages drawn from himself and
those closest to him with lyrics that are meaningful but accessible to all audiences.
Rick also wants his music to be a catalyst in helping others. He has performed
over 50 concerts where the only price of admission were cans of food donated
to local food banks. Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Rick would like
to continue raising funds and food for those less fortunate and increase awareness
of the hunger and homeless epidemic.
